Genmai Cha
Imported directly from Japan where the specially selected juicy solid green leaves (Sencha) are cultivated in the famous Shizuoka tea area and blended with strictly controlled roasted 100% Japanese good rice. Puffed rice is used in higher class Genmai Cha and when the rice pops open it resembles pure white flowers in a beautiful green garden.

Sencha (SMB)
A single estate green tea from the Shizuoka district, situated on the Pacific Ocean in eastern Japan. With unique terrain, mineral rich soil, a mild four-season climate, plenty of sunshine, just the right amount of rainfall, and a special factor, dense coastal fog. These are all the ingredients necessary to grow superlative Green tea leaves.
SMB, this denotes summer harvest, second pick. It has no bearing on the quality of this leaf. Harvesting commences in Spring, to co-inside with “the FOG”.
Harvesting times are:
Spring: one major harvest
Summer: two harvests
Autumn: many harvests, depending on the frequency of “the FOG”
Winter: Japan only processes in winter, usually China or Taiwan leaf
