This course starts your coffee journey. First you will learn a little information on the history of coffee. The course will then take you to the science and maths behind the espresso extraction and how to obtain this. You will learn the right timing and volume of the espresso extraction. Dosing and tamping of the portafilter basket. Advanced milk texturing techniques to master a silky smooth milk for a perfect cappuccino or latte. You will also learn different espresso beverages and the coffee beverages that are commonly served in today’s cafe and restaurant industry.
You will receive a work book full of information and barista techniques including a coffee beverage chart laminated for use in your cafe, kitchen, office etc.

If you are now competent with making great coffee but really want to learn the how they pour those beautiful pictures on the top of lattes, flat whites, cappucinos etc. You will need to do our Latte art course. Before you begin to do this course you must have completed Silipo Coffee’s Accreditation course I or be at the same level of milk texturing. You’ll then learn how to do free pour art, art etching, chocolate dusting. These are all techniques used for art such as rossetta’s, heart’s, dragons, spider webs, flowers etc. This is a fun and a must do course if you are really into impressing people with your talents of making great coffee.

This course has been created due to the increasing demand for alternative coffee brewing methods. Expect this course to teach you how to correctly use a Pour Over, Chemex, Coffee Syphon, Aeropress and Cold Drip. Your teacher will take you through basic recipes and extraction rules. How to grind for each particular brewing method and how to get the most out of your roasters filter brew.
