SC University’s Coffee Roasting is a hands-on, practical course introducing you to the world of coffee roasting. You will learn the basics of green coffee, types of heat transfer, maillard reaction, the coffee roaster, 1st and 2nd crack, roasting single origin coffee and roasting blends of coffee. This course is run by a multi-award winning coffee roaster and is recommended for anyone interested in coffee roasting. No previous roasting experience is required.

The content you can expect to cover:-

  • Green coffee.
  • Types of heat and transfer.
  • Maillard reaction.
  • Introduction to coffee roaster.
  • Roasting your own 1kg single origin.
  • How to start your roast and control.
  • 1st and 2nd crack.
  • Blending basics.

Duration: 4 hours.

Location: 54 Bailey Crescent, Southport.

Maximum number of people: 4.

Comfortable, closed in shoes must be worn by participants.

A Coffee Roasting Certificate will be issued on completion.

We will contact you to arrange a suitable time when payment is received.

A minimum of 72 hours notice prior to commencement of the course is required for any cancellation and a full refund will be provided.

A minimum of 24 hours notice prior to commencement of the course is required to postpone or reschedule your attendance, following which a member of our team will be in touch with you to organise another date and time.

If less than 24 hours notice is provided to cancel, postpone, reschedule, or if a person is a no show to the course, the full course fee will be forfeited.
